Our first Divine Word series on Sūrah al-ʿAlaq is now available on the playlist. 

The initial revelation begins with the command “Read!”, reminding us that knowledge is a Divine gift and that God created man from a humble clot. It warns against arrogance when humans forget their dependence on God, criticises those who prevent others from prayer, and promises their humiliation. The surah concludes with the command to prostrate, teaching that true honour and closeness to Allah are achieved through worship and humility.
