By the Grace and Mercy of Almighty Allāh, Allhamdulillah, Blackburn has been blessed by another Masjid, Situated on Emerald Street in the heart of the Roe Lee/Brownhill area, Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa is a flagship project of the Muslim Welfare Institute (MWI).

In 21st-century Britain, the role of the masjid remains as vital as it was during the time of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him).

Our mission is to advance the Islamic faith by offering a diverse range of spiritual, educational, and social services.

Our vision is to become a centre of excellence for Islamic learning and practice – a beacon for both Muslims and people of other faiths who seek a deeper understanding of Islam. We strive to create a space where the genuine beauty of our faith can be experienced, shared, and embraced.
